The Barranquitas Proceres withstood an impressive performance by Vieques second baseman Jaime Flores to defeat the Esqueletos, 8-6, at Estadio de los Próceres. Flores went 2-4 with a double, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3. Gerardo Escobar earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2 innings. His record is now 31-18. The Proceres have now won 4 straight.

Ruy Barrera contributed a productive at-bat in the bottom of the seventh. With runners on 2nd and 3rd, he reached on an error by the 2B, driving in 2 runs. It was one at-bat that helped Barranquitas get the win.

"There were things that we could've improved upon," said Proceres manager Baltasar Suazo, "but all in all, I'm satisfied with our performance."
