The Mayaguez Capitanes and Barceloneta Marineros played a tight game with the hosts claiming a hard-fought win.

The Mayaguez Capitanes got a magnificent effort from pitcher Pedro Sánchez, who kept Barceloneta hitters in check en route to a 3-1 Capitanes win at Parque de los Capitanes. In 9 innings, Sánchez surrendered 4 hits, while striking out 2 and walking 3. He allowed 1 run.

Segundo Román had a timely hit in the bottom of the sixth inning. With two out and a runner on 3rd, the Mayaguez shortstop hit a run-scoring single. That put the Capitanes in front, 3-1.
