Though the conditions were not ideal, the Sabana Grande Petateros and Guanica Amigos came back from a rain delay to finish their game.

Sabana Grande second baseman Cedro García made his presence felt in the 9-7 Petateros triumph over the Guanica Amigos. García went 3-5 with 3 singles. The winning pitcher was Plácido Sánchez. His record is now 12-7. The right-hander went 9 innings, allowing 7 runs on 13 hits for the Petateros.

Sabana Grande used a timely hit from Nicolás Barrera to get the win. The center fielder delivered a bases-clearing triple in the top of the seventh inning to put the Petateros on top, 7-2. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"Win or lose, we always try to grind it out and stay even-keeled," García said in reaction to the win.

The Petateros now own a record of 70-65.
