Tiburones Suffer 6-3 Setback
|
With shortstop Martín Valle leading the charge, the Rio Grande Cotorras defeated the Aguadilla Tiburones, 6-3, at Parque de los Tiburones. Valle, who is tied for 6th in the LB with a .972 OPS, was 3 for 4 with 3 singles and was hit by a pitch. He scored 2 times. Rio Grande is now 59-72, while Aguadilla is 56-75.
Had Adelio Mendivil not delivered a key base hit in the top of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 3rd, Mendivil hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 4-3, in favor of the Cotorras.
"It feels good, just a great win all around," Valle said after the game.
