The Holguin Pericos picked up a win at Parque de Bayamo, knocking off the Bayamo Rafagas, 8-3. On the mound for Holguin was right-hander Jim Cole, who played a pivotal role in the win. Cole, now 12-5, was the winner. In 9 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 2, walking 3, and allowing 3 runs.

The Pericos benefited from an error in the top of the sixth inning. Holguin was leading 2-1 when Jack Doyle hit a run-scoring single that was misplayed. It put Holguin in front, 3-1.

"There are times you get yourself out and there are times you come through," Doyle said. "That's how it goes."
