Holguin turned a good effort from starter Armando Sorto into a win over the Santa Clara Leopardos at Parque de los Pericos. The final score was 10-1. The triumph puts Holguin at 26-15 for the season.

Holguin left fielder Gilberto Suárez had a key at-bat for the Pericos in the bottom of the fourth inning. Facing right-hander Catón de Herrera, Suárez hit a run-scoring single. It put Holguin in front, 3-1. For the day, Suárez went 2-4 with 2 singles and a walk.

"We'll keep our chins up and get ready for the next game," said losing manager Astolfo Hernández.
