Before the game, Esteban Quiros said he liked his chances. His instincts proved to be right. In a superb outing at Recinto de Artemisa, the Rojos pitcher whitewashed the Matanzas Henequeneros 4-0.

"I just had a feeling it was going to be my day," Quiros said in the clubhouse afterward. "My control was awesome. I could throw my curveball even when I was behind in the count."

The Artemisa starter held Matanzas scoreless, giving up 4 hits while registering 1 strikeout and issuing no walks.

"We didn't have very many good at-bats," Henequeneros manager Abel Chacón said in a postgame interview. "When that happens, you usually lose."

His record for the year is 21-8 in 30 starts and Quiros has a 2.44 ERA.
