Who needs batting practice? Apparently not Pinar del Rio Guajiros right fielder Ramón Velásquez, who missed the team's pre-game session but peppered the visiting Almendares Alacranes for 5 hits come game time. The Guajiros went on to take the 16-3 win.

"I was late to the park and I wasn't sure coach was even going to keep me in the lineup," he told the press after the game. "Maybe I should skip BP more often."
