The Artemisa Rojos topped the Pinar del Rio Guajiros, 5-4, in Torneo del Occidente action at Recinto de Artemisa. The standout performance belonged to Artemisa pitcher and Camagüey, Cuba, native José Barreto. The Rojos now have a record of 42-29.

Also having an impact was first baseman Ben Pitchford, who stroked a 2-run single in the bottom of the fifth for Artemisa. For the game, Pitchford was 1 for 4, while adding 2 RBI.
