The Matanzas Henequeneros got a stellar performance from pitcher Frank Groves, who handcuffed the Almendares offense en route to a win, 8-2, at Recinto de Almendares. The Henequeneros have an impressive 42-25 record.

Matanzas used a well-timed hit by Tito Salgado to capture the win. The left fielder socked a bases-clearing double in the top of the first inning to put the Henequeneros ahead, 5-0. Though it was his only hit in 5 at-bats, it was important.

"It feels good to get this one," Salgado told the Matanzas Daily.
