The Matanzas Henequeneros picked up a win at Campo de los Henequeneros, taking down the Almendares Alacranes, 3-2. Starting pitcher Ken Martin was a big reason why. Matanzas is now 33-21. Almendares is 22-32.

Cecil Goodyear went 1-2. He drove in 2 runs and scored once for Matanzas. The 22-year old right fielder had a key at-bat in the bottom of the fifth. With one out and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he broke a 2-2 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Cleto Correa. It was his 24th RBI of the season.

"Sometimes, you can be too aggressive," said Almendares manager Luis Ramírez. "You need to let the game come to you."
