Salgado goes 3-for-4, Leads Henequeneros to Win
The Matanzas Henequeneros beat the Almendares Alacranes, 14-11, at Campo de los Henequeneros. The Henequeneros got a fine performance from left fielder Tito Salgado, who was 3 for 4 with 2 triples and a walk, while scoring 3 times and driving in 2. Matanzas reliever Felipe Grajeda picked up the win, upping his record to 2-0. Alberto López shouldered the loss. The win elevated the Henequeneros to 32-21.

A defensive lapse proved costly in the contest. In the bottom of the seventh, with the game tied, Napoleón Lozada was at the plate when Matanzas scored 1 on an error. The miscue enabled the Henequeneros to go in front, 9-8.

Almendares manager Luis Ramírez said he was disappointed with the loss. "Whenever you score that many runs, you expect to win the game."
