The Wrexham Druids topped the Cardiff Arcadians, 8-6, with youngster Dermot Mount playing a key role. Mount was 2-4 with 2 singles and a walk, while adding 3 RBI for the Druids in the win. Gavan Davenport was called on to finish, recording his 1st save. The Druids lead the All-Team Circuit Undeb Pel-fas Cymru by 7½ games.
Had Leucipo Rael not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, Rael hit a 2-run single. That made the score 8-6, in favor of the Druids.
"The name of the game is scoring runs," Rael said. "We did a good job of that today."
