Harbourmasters Knock Off Vikings at Dublin Grounds

The inspired effort of Dublin right fielder Henry Ransom was not enough to prevent a loss, 10-5, to the Galway Harbourmasters. Ransom was 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Sam Doyle picked up the win with 9 innings of work. He allowed 5 runs on 10 hits, while walking 5 and striking out 7. On the season, he is now 16-21. At 46-70, Galway is in last place in the All-Team Circuit Sraith Daorchluiche na hEireann.
The result might have been different, had it not been for Clyde Chellun, the Galway third baseman. Chellun had a bases-clearing double in the top of the eighth inning to put the Harbourmasters ahead, 10-1. For the game, Chellun had 1 double and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves," Chellun told a Galway Gazette reporter. "Sometimes we just need to relax."
