Arcadians Topple Stevedores, 8-2, as Flores Shines
The Cardiff Arcadians stopped the Newport Stevedores, 8-2, at Newport Grounds. The Arcadians got a big game from Elías Flores, who was 3-4 with 3 singles and a walk. He scored 3 times and drove in 2. Cardiff bumps their record to 59-54 with the win.

With Cardiff leading 2-1 in the top of the fifth, Flores hit a run-scoring single off Newport hurler Douglas Stevens. It was the 97th hit of the season for Flores and put his team ahead, 3-1.

"We swung the bats good throughout the lineup," said Cardiff skipper Harvey Burford.
