Late Magic Gets Bangor 2-1 Win
Newport wasted a solid 9-inning effort from starting pitcher Douglas Stevens, losing to Bangor, 2-1, at Newport Grounds. Roberto López earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2 innings. His record is now 3-9. Bangor, at 49-61, holds down 4th place in the All-Team Circuit Undeb Pel-fas Cymru.

Bangor used the timely hitting of Lino Lagos to seize the win. The catcher stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Bishops on top, 2-1. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

Lagos called the win "a team effort."
