The Sheffield Talons did just enough to secure a victory over the Coventry Motors, 11-10, at Motors Field. Nobody did more than right fielder Arthur Byrne. Sheffield reliever Malone Gray was credited with the win, to go to 1-0. Kane Burns took the loss for Coventry. Sheffield, at 51-51, occupies third place in the All-Team Circuit English Baseball Championship.

This game was not decided until Graham Murphy came to bat in the top of the 12th. With runners on 2nd and 3rd and no one out, the Sheffield second baseman hit a sacrifice fly. The Talons took the lead, 11-10.

"We swung the bats good throughout the lineup," said Sheffield skipper Scott Moss.
