Bishops Suffer 4-3 Setback

The Swansea Copper Lords did just enough to sneak past the Bangor Bishops, 4-3, at Bishops Park. Swansea pitcher Jon Schofield, in particular, had a standout performance. In 9 innings, Schofield surrendered 8 hits, while striking out 3 and walking 2. He allowed 3 runs. The Copper Lords now own a record of 30-64.
Swansea relied on the hitting of Tony Mason to pick up the win. The first baseman ripped a run-scoring triple in the top of the sixth inning to put the Copper Lords on top, 3-1. For the game, Mason had 1 triple and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
