Clutch Hitting Delivers Win for Rams
Starting pitcher Lucas Smith pitched well enough to help the Derby Rams beat the Winchester Barons, 4-3. Smith, now 16-13, was the winner. In 9 innings, he gave up 8 hits, while striking out 4, walking 2, and allowing 3 runs. The Rams bumped their record to 49-45 with this latest triumph.

The game was decided with one out in the bottom of the ninth. With Derby trailing 3-2, Jeff Bell hit a slider from Theo Ellis to right for a 2-run single. Just like that, the Rams had a walk-off win.
