Johnson Shines in 8-6 Galway Win
A nice crowd turned out for a clash between the Galway Harbourmasters and Cork Salmon.

The Galway Harbourmasters topped the Cork Salmon by a score of 8-6. Leading the way was third baseman Fursey Johnson. Johnson went 3 for 3 with 2 doubles and a walk. He scored 3 times and drove in 2 for the Harbourmasters. Ed Winman was the winning pitcher. Over 8 innings, he allowed 6 runs on 8 hits, with 3 walks and 3 strikeouts.

Galway took advantage of an error in the bottom of the seventh inning. The game was tied, 6-6, when Wayne Rumsey hit a 2-run single that was misplayed. It put Galway in front, 8-6.

"It wasn't our best performance," said Johnson, "but a win in this league is nothing to sniff at."

With the win, Galway goes to 33-54, while the Salmon fall to 42-45.
