The London Fog withstood an impressive performance by Derby left fielder Jeff Bell to defeat the Rams, 6-5, at Fog Field. Bell went 3-5 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 and driving in 2. The winner was London reliever Carlton Long, now 1-3. The loser was Freddie Rhys. London is last in the All-Team Circuit English Baseball Championship with a record of 17-69.

A defensive lapse proved costly in the contest. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth, an error by the Rams allowed the Fog to score the winning run.

"The most important thing is that we won," Matthews said.
