Arcadians Pull Back to .500 With Win Over Stevedores
Cardiff beat Newport at Arcadians Field, escaping with a 7-6 win. The win in large part was due to shortstop Francis Morley. He went 3 for 4 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. Cardiff starter Connor Griffiths was credited with the win after throwing 139 pitches over 9 innings. His record now stands at 13-10. Cardiff is now 39-39, Newport 44-34.

The Arcadians benefited from a costly error in the bottom of the fourth. With Arthur Brophy at bat and Cardiff leading 5-0, the Newport miscue allowed Cardiff to plate 2 and take the lead, 7-0.
