The Winchester Barons overcame a fine performance by Derby first baseman Armando Mercado to defeat the Rams, 5-4, at Winchester Grounds. Mercado was 3-3 with 3 singles and 2 walks. Picking up the win was Harley Maskery. He went 10 innings, allowing 4 runs on 9 hits. The left--hander struck out 3 and walked 6. The 'W' lifts Winchester's record to 36-24.

In the bottom of the tenth, with the game tied, the Rams allowed the Barons to take a 5-4 lead on a base hit and Derby error.
