It wasn't easy but the Edinburgh Claymores made it look that way.

Starter Richard Wilkins shut out the Glasgow Shipwrights despite having what he later called "sub-par" stuff, and the Edinburgh Claymores cruised to victory, 8-0. Wilkins allowed only 5 hits and rang up 8 strikeouts but insisted later that he did not deserve primary credit for the win.

"It didn't feel quite right today, but I got a lot of help to get through," he said. "I trusted my catcher and the guys behind me bailed me out more than once when I screwed up."

This year Wilkins has worked 132.1 innings with 69 strikeouts en route to a 7-7 record and 2.92 ERA.
