Bards Snatch Late Win
The Belfast Bards took Derry pitcher Américo Monroy's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Maidens Field. The final score had Belfast getting past the Maidens, 4-3. Monroy went 10 innings and allowed 4 runs, striking out 8. Carlos Sosa earned the win for Belfast. He lasted 9.2 innings, allowing 3 runs on 10 hits, while striking out 3. With the win, he raised his record to 9-5. Picking up the save was Garvin Kennedy, his 4th.

Belfast used the timely hitting of Oliver Saville to seize the win. The second baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the tenth inning to put the Bards on top, 4-3. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"Our team showed some spunk," said Saville.

The first-place Bards improved to 32-13.
