Bards Dump Derry, 3-2, to Win 4th in a Row
|
Belfast Bards starter Jay Smith was in fine form against the Derry Maidens at Maidens Field, leading his team to a win, 3-2. At 31-13, Belfast is in first place in the All-Team Circuit Sraith Daorchluiche na hEireann.
Belfast used the clutch hitting of Callum Craig to capture the win. The right fielder drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Bards ahead, 3-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a big one.
"Anytime I can help the team, I feel good about it," said Smith.
