Rams Get Past Coventry for 7-6 Win
The Derby Rams beat the Coventry Motors, 7-6, at Rams Park. The win was due in part to first baseman Armando Mercado, who was 4-4 with a double, 3 singles, and a walk. He scored 3 times and drove in 3. Derby is now 22-11.

A defensive lapse proved costly in the contest. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth, an error by the Motors allowed the Rams to score the winning run.

"It wasn't our best performance," said Batres, "but a win in this league is nothing to sniff at."
