The Barceloneta Marineros topped the Florida Mogotes, 8-2, in Liga Hostos action at Jardines de Barceloneta. The standout performance belonged to Barceloneta pitcher and Bayamón, Puerto Rico, native Sabino Apolinar. Barceloneta reliever Sabino Apolinar got the win, raising his record to 1-0. Crisanto Madrid was tagged with the loss. With their 17th win of the season, the Marineros have high hopes for earning their 2nd Campeonato Nacional Puertorriqueño trophy.

The Marineros got a gift in the bottom of the fifth inning, when they were leading 3-2. With two out and the bases loaded, Sabino Apolinar reached on an error by the SS, driving in 1 run. It made the score 4-2, Barceloneta.

Apolinar said afterward that "winning is what it's all about."
