Derby took on Sheffield in front of a lively crowd.

Derby picked up a win at Talons Park, toppling the Sheffield Talons, 10-4. Pitcher Stephen Thompson was one of the reasons the Rams triumphed. Thompson went the distance for Derby. He gave up 4 runs on 8 hits.

Derby used the timely hitting of Shaun Mulholland to seize the win. The second baseman stroked a 2-run single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Rams on top, 4-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"Stephen is tough when he's hitting his spots," said Derby manager Aaron Beynon.

Derby now has a 7-game win streak.
