Olympians Rally Past Dukes to Claim 1-0 Series Lead
The Tempe Olympians started the Serie Interregional in dramatic fashion today, stealing Game 1 from the Albuquerque Dukes in a walk-off. Tempe won 3-2 behind a good day from starter Joe Rexford. The left-hander threw 9.0 innings of 8-hit ball in the win, which gave the Olympians a 1-0 lead to start the best-of-5 series.

When he came to bat in the bottom of the ninth, Jordan Knight had a chance to be the hero. Albuquerque pitcher John Madding had other ideas. But with two outs, Knight hit a run-scoring single. The Olympians had themselves a dramatic win.

"Every team in baseball loses," Dukes manager Cedric Lucas said. "We're in the playoffs and we still have the same guys that got us here. We'll bounce back."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Tempe Stadium in Tempe.
