It wasn't easy but Dennis Lamkin made it look that way.

Lamkin silenced the Tyler Pecan Kings, 18-0, in a Beaumont Alpinists triumph at Pecan Kings Stadium today. Despite the appearance of dominance, Lamkin said later that he felt like he was struggling all game. He gave up 2 walks and 8 hits.

"It didn't feel quite right today, but I made the decision to bear down and work through it," he said. "I made a few mistakes but it goes to show what you can do with grit and not much else."

In 30 starts this season Lamkin has chalked up a 12-13 record and a 3.67 ERA.
