Scott Dougan made an impact in the 6-5 New Braunfels win over Beaumont. Dougan, who is tied for 4th in the ETXA with a .514 slugging percentage, went 4 for 5 with a home run, a triple, a double, and a walk. He scored 3 times and drove in 3. Santiago Martín closed the game out for New Braunfels, earning his 1st save. New Braunfels is second in the Association of Eastern Texas San Marcos Circuit with a record of 34-30.

Dougan had a game-changing home run in the top of the 11th. On a 1-0 fastball from Ron Scott, he banged a solo home run to left-center, giving the Yodelers a 6-5 lead. It was the 5th home run of the year for Dougan.

Dougan said his wife shared good advice with him before the game. "She said, 'Don't allow this game to make you mad.' When I thought about it, I realized this is just a game. I was able to relax at the plate."
