Lavender Stockings Take Down Mammoths, 7-5
With right fielder Esquilo Villagómez leading the charge, the Luling Lavender Stockings defeated the Waco Mammoths, 7-5, at Waco Grounds. Villagómez, who finished 3rd in the ETXA in OPS with .835 in 1892, went 3 for 5 with 2 triples, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Luling now sits in first place in the Association of Eastern Texas San Marcos Circuit at 17-10.

Luling took a 7-2 lead on Villagómez's 13th triple of the season. The bases-clearing triple, which he hit off Jay Somers in the top of the sixth, propelled Luling to the win.

"Anytime I can help the team, I feel good about it," said Villagómez.
