The Florida Mogotes weathered a fine game by Barceloneta left fielder Alonso Suárez to upend the Marineros, 9-7, at Jardines de Barceloneta. Suárez went 3 for 4 with 3 singles and a walk, while scoring 2. Florida reliever Laertes de Jesús picked up the win, raising his record to 1-0. Vicente Cordova was tagged with the loss. With the loss, Barceloneta falls to 16-3.

Quilón Trujillo drove in one run for Florida. The 32-year old first baseman had a key at-bat in the top of the seventh. With no one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 7-7 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Vicente Cordova. It was his 9th RBI of the season.

"They played a better game than we did," said Barceloneta skipper Sócrates Cárdenas.
