In baseball, each game is unique. This one was no different.
A good performance from third baseman Urayoán Cid helped the Penuelas Petroleros defeat the Yauco Corsos, 9-7. Cid was 4 for 5 with a triple, a double, and 2 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for the Petroleros. Leonel Jiménez got the win, improving to 2-3. He pitched 9 innings, giving up 16 hits and 7 runs, while striking out 2 and walking 3.
Cid came through for the Petroleros in the top of the third inning. With Penuelas leading 3-0, the third baseman hit a 2-run single. It made the score 5-0, Penuelas.
"Enjoyed this one," Cid told the Penuelas Citizen. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
The Corsos, now 13-6, have been consistent this season. Consistently bad.
