El Paso Finos starter Procopio Alatorre was dealing. He helped his team knock off the Odessa Cowhands, 5-2. The Finos raised their record to 13-28.

Dan Hamelink could have done more damage. In the bottom of the ninth, with Odessa trailing 5-1, Odessa had the bases loaded. That's when Hamelink grounded out, driving in 1 run. But it was not enough. El Paso would go on to win the game.
