The Amarillo Horizons picked up a win at Cowhands Park, taking down the Odessa Cowhands, 4-2. Starting pitcher Willie McGill was a big reason why. Amarillo raised its record to 20-16 with the win.

The Horizons got a big at-bat from third baseman Bill Joyce. For the game, Joyce was 1 for 4 with a triple and a walk, while adding 2 RBI. In the top of the third, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a 2-run triple. His 10th triple of the season gave Amarillo a 2-0 lead.

"At the end of the day, it's always about your starting pitcher," said Amarillo skipper John Cassidy.
