The Marfa Ghost Lights and Odessa Cowhands were greeted by an enthusiastic crowd.

Odessa starter Kurt Marland had a strong outing against the Marfa Ghost Lights at Ghost Lights Field. The right-hander was a big part of his team's 8-2 win. Odessa is now 19-14, Marfa 13-20.

The Cowhands took the lead in the top of the eighth. With two out, Chad Nivens hit a grand slam home run off Marfa pitcher Nate Keown, putting Odessa in front, 8-0. For the game, Nivens was 1-4 with a home run and a walk, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once.

"Good win for us," said Nivens. "We'll strap it on and go after the next one."
