The Amarillo Horizons topped the Wichita Falls Yardmen, 9-4, in Association of Western Texas action at Yardmen Park. The standout performance belonged to Amarillo pitcher and Atlanta, Georgia, native Willie McGill. Amarillo, at 17-13, occupies third place in the Association of Western Texas Abilene Circuit.

A key moment came with two out in the top of the eighth. That's when Horizons left fielder Chris Senner hit a sinker from Jesús Reyes for a 2-run triple, putting Amarillo up, 8-4.

McGill told a Amarillo Daily News reporter that he was "very satisfied" with the win.
