Late Magic Gets Pittsburgh 12-8 Win
The Pittsburgh Pirates trumped the St. Louis Cardinals, 12-8, at Robison Field 1893-1919. Pittsburgh second baseman Gene DeMontreville was terrific. He went 2-5 with a triple. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Pittsburgh is 7th in the National League with a record of 57-80.

Pittsburgh took the lead on DeMontreville's 5th triple of the season. The bases-clearing triple, which came against Ed Seward in the top of the eighth, made the score 9-6, Pittsburgh.

"We take it day by day here," said DeMontreville, "and today was a good one for us."
