Phillies Sneak By Beaneaters, 9-8
Good production from pitcher John Coleman helped the Philadelphia Phillies topple the Boston Beaneaters, 9-8. Coleman came in in relief and pitched to 25 batters for the Phillies. Their 67-52 record puts the Phillies third in the National League.

Cupid Childs was the walk-off hero for Philadelphia. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Phillies second baseman hit a dramatic run-scoring double to send the teams home.

"There's a lot of good karma around our club," said winning manager Jamie Perrone.
