Good production from left fielder Billy Hamilton helped the St. Louis Cardinals topple the Pittsburgh Pirates, 9-6. Hamilton went 4-5 with a triple and 3 singles. He drove in 3 runs for the Cardinals. The Cardinals improved to 65-51.

Hamilton had an important at-bat with a runner on 2nd in the top of the sixth, when he hit a run-scoring single. The Cardinals went on to win.

In comments to the St. Louis Citizen, Hamilton admitted he's been told to improve his work habits. "But," he said, "I know when to take it to another gear."
