Good production from left fielder Billy Hamilton helped the St. Louis Cardinals topple the Pittsburgh Pirates, 9-6. Hamilton went 4-5 with a triple and 3 singles. He drove in 3 runs for the Cardinals. The Cardinals improved to 65-51.

Hamilton had an important at-bat with a runner on 2nd in the top of the sixth, when he hit a run-scoring single. The Cardinals went on to win.
