St. Louis third baseman Duff Cooley contributed to his team's 5-4 win over the Philadelphia Phillies. Cooley, who is tied for 10th in the NL with a .877 OPS, went 2 for 3 with 1 run scored to lead the offensive attack for the Cardinals. St. Louis pitcher Dan Sheehan got the win. He's now 6-6. John Coleman was tagged with the loss. The win puts St. Louis at 59-49 this season.

St. Louis took a 4-1 lead on Cooley's 12th triple of the season. The 2-run triple, which he hit off John Coleman in the bottom of the seventh, propelled St. Louis to the win.

"We're in a funk and we need to shake ourselves out of it," said Philadelphia manager Jamie Perrone.
