Baseball fans saw a good contest between the St. Louis Cardinals and New York Giants.

The St. Louis Cardinals picked up a win at Polo Grounds 1890-1910, knocking off the New York Giants, 4-3. Starting pitcher Pink Hawley played a key role in the triumph. St. Louis is in 4th place in the National League with a record of 58-48.

The most important at-bat for St. Louis came in the top of the tenth inning. With no one out, Klondike Douglass reached on an error by the center fielder, driving in 1 run, putting St. Louis up, 4-3.

"We're stringing together some nice wins," said St. Louis manager Craig Widner.
