Chicago rode a good effort from starter Allen Pitts to beat the Cincinnati Reds at League Park II 1894-1901. The final score was 5-2. Pitts, now 22-11, was the winner. In 9 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 3, walking 6, and allowing 2 runs. Chicago is now 63-38, Cincinnati 56-45.
With two out in the top of the fourth, Bill Dahlen put Chicago in front, 4-0, with a 2-run single. The Colts went on to win the ballgame.
