The St. Louis Cardinals picked up a win at Robison Field 1893-1919, knocking off the New York Giants, 8-2. Starting pitcher Pink Hawley played a key role in the triumph. St. Louis, at 46-39, occupies 5th place in the National League.

The tension was thick in the top of the sixth inning. With runners on 1st and 2nd and New York trailing 2-0, Pink Hawley had to get a big out. On a first pitch fastball, he retired Dan Dugdale, who flied out.
