The Newport Stevedores topped the Wrexham Druids, 6-4, in Great British Base-Off action at Wrexham Stadium. The game was highlighted by the performance of Newport pitcher Downey Kennedy. Newport reliever Downey Kennedy got the win, raising his record to 3-2. Henry Wilkin was tagged with the loss. Wrexham drops to 6-6.

Newport relied on the bat of Jon Pierce to get the win. The right fielder ripped a run-scoring triple in the top of the 12th inning to put the Stevedores ahead, 5-4. For the game, Pierce had 1 double and 1 triple in 5 at-bats.

"Good win for us, tough loss for them," said Pierce.
