A 4-RBI performance from third baseman Bill Dahlen, who led the NL in slugging percentage with .737 in 1894, led the Chicago Colts to a win over the New York Giants, 10-4. The Colts saw their record improve to 43-30.

Chicago took a 6-3 lead on Dahlen's 12th triple of the season. The 2-run triple, which he hit off Jack Sharrott in the top of the sixth, propelled Chicago to the win.

"You work hard, day in and day out, hoping to give the fans something to cheer about. Today was a good day," Dahlen told the Chicago Citizen.
