The fans at Robison Field 1893-1919 witnessed quite a game.

The St. Louis Cardinals beat the Cincinnati Reds, 9-6, at Robison Field 1893-1919. The Cardinals got a fine performance from shortstop Germany Smith, who was 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 and driving in 5. John McCarty, credited with the win, is now 7-12. He allowed 6 runs on 11 hits in 9 innings.

The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the ninth. With one out, Smith hit a sinker from Mike Smith for a 3-run home run. The Cardinals, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.

"It was a nice win for our side today," said Cardinals manager Craig Widner. "Not perfect, but we'll take it."

With the win, St. Louis pushed its record to 36-33.
