Beaneaters Earn 4-3 Win Versus Pirates
Boston starter Bob Black had a strong outing against the Pittsburgh Pirates at South End Grounds 1894-1915. The right-hander was a big part of his team's 4-3 win. The Beaneaters improved to 40-28.

Boston won the game in the bottom of the 15th inning. With no outs and Mac MacArthur on the mound for Pittsburgh, first baseman Dan McGann hit a dramatic solo home run, bringing Beaneaters fans to their feet.

McGann attributed the win to "energy and focus on the part of everyone."
